Hi tgx,
I have two advices for you, first of all, please update Zextras Suite to the latest version (1.8.12). Then, if the problem persists, take a look to our wiki, we have a guide "How_to_report_a_ZeXtras_Suite_issue" with a section dedicated to ZxMobile module.
As last note, the ActiveSync protocol uses only port 443/https (or 80/http if you don't use SSL), so if you have configured your device correctly all contacts should be synced as well as mail or calendars.
