First timer issues with ZxMobile and Samsung Galaxy Note II

    Hi,

I just installed the latest version from your website on 8.0.1 FOSS on centos 6.3. Now have a few questions:

    1. I am using galaxy note II, running android, and setup a MS Exchange type email account, so i can have full calender, contact etc sync. When i create a folder on the phone, it doesn't appear immediately on the web interface and vice versa. The folder i created on phone, shows up twice in phone, which show identical mails in them.

    2. When i am using the Note, and trying to create a calender event, its not syncing to the server.

    3. When i use the web interface to create an event, it shows on the phone. But when i edit the same event and change its time and the reminder settings, the same are not synced back on the web interface (even after 10 mins).

Will appreciate if you can help with the above.

    Thanks

    Hello Anandi,
    welcome to the forums!

Can you please specify the Android version you are running on your device? Also, is it a stock official ROM or a Custom ROM like Cyanogen or MIUI?

    Hello Anand!

Different accounts don't interfere with each other, so no problem on that side...

While I need to run some tests regarding point 1 of your post, points 2 and 3 make me think that the phone is synchronizing too few days... Can you please check in "Settings" -> "Accounts and Sync" -> Your Account -> "Settings" -> Your Account that the "Period to sync Email" and "Period to sync Calendar" settings have a proper value configured? E.G. if you only sync 3 days of calendar and move an appointment out of this period it's normal to see it in the Zimbra Webclient and not on the phone...

    Have a nice day,

    Hi Anandi!

In order to help I'd like you to do the following:

    - Delete the malfunctioning account from your phone.
    - Delete the appropriate user/device line in the "Registered Device" list in the ZeXtras Administration Zimlet - ZxMobile tab
    - Set up an Account Logger as described at ZxMobile Troubleshooting - ZeXtras Suite Wiki
    - Create the account on your mobile phone and let it perform the first sync
    - Let the mobile run normally for 10-15 minutes and then send me a copy of the logfile created by the Account Logger (via email: community@zextras.com, the file might be quite large, if so please compress it with lzma)

I'll take a look at the file to see what's going on...

    Have a nice day,

    Zimlet installation failed. Exiting.
    .......
The zimlet installation has failed. That might be due to an incomplete startup
of the Zimbra webapp. Please verify Zimbra is up and running, then retry
the deployment of the zimlet with ./install.sh zimlet .
    .......

Any ideas whats gone wrong ?

    Hmmm...
This looks like a certificate issue, are your certificates correctly set up and working? Also, are you using a self-signed certificate or a commercial one?
