    Question MobileNG bug with deleted mail_item (flag 128)

    Hello,

    Since we moved from Zimbra Mobile to MobileNG, users report that when they move or delete messages from their Mac using Apple Mail.app and IMAP, the moved / deleted messages still show on their mobile device using MobileNG ActiveSync in the same folder.
    We've been investigating and found out that when a message is moved / deleted using Apple Mail.app, the EXPUNGE IMAP method is not call (unlike with ThunderBird) and the mail_item only gets a 128 flag (deleted), which MobileNG seems to ignore.

    Are you aware of this behavior / bug?

    Hi,

    Zimbra support advised on changing this value which did the trick : zxsuite mobile setProperty ZxMobile_ImapDeletedFilterEnabled true

    There are 2 reasons why I think this setting should be set to TRUE by default:

    - Moving from Zimbra historical Exchange ActiveSync implentation to MobileNG should preserve the same behaviors. This was not the case.
    - When a message is not visible anymore in either ZWC or in any IMAP client, why would it still show up on ActiveSync devices? This is inappropriate.

    Please consider changing the default setting to TRUE.
