"null" e-mail address since update to 1.2.3

Hello again, here comes the next problem:

since i updated to ZEXTRAS 1.2.3, i always get the address null@"zimbraserver dns name" instead of name@domainnaime.
This happens no matter what i insert in the mail address field when setting up the account.

    Any information about that?

    Hello JoeKar!

I need some more informations about your issue:

    - Where do you see the wrong address?
    - What's the brand/model/os version of your mobile device?
    - What's your Zimbra OS and Version?

    Have a nice day,

    Hello Cine,

    sorry, forgot to mention that!

    - the null@ Adress appears in the "from" on the recipient side
    - Device is a DesireZ with Android 2.3.3
    - Zimbra is the newest ( Zimbra 7.1.3_GA_3346)
    - ZEXTRAS is 1.2.3

    Hello again,

looks like this is a bug... I managed to reproduce it on one out of three of our test environments, as soon as I have the full data about it I'll file a bug on the bugzilla and report back to you...

Please make sure to properly set both the Display Name on your account preferences (on the Zimbra Administration console select the account and press "Edit") and the "From:" field on your "Primary Account Settings" (on the Zimbra Web Client Preferences -> Accounts -> Primary Account Settings).

    Best Regards,
    Cine

I filed a bug about this problem on the ZeXtras Bugzilla, please anyone experiencing the same problem report Brand/OS/Version of their mobile device, along with Zimbra OS/Version and ZeXtras Version, on the following page: Bug 33 – Wrong "From:" field displayed on all clients

    Hey Cine,

thanks for filing a bug. Any Idea when there will be a bugfix for it?

I rechecked the configuration under account preferences on the Zimbra administration console "Accountname" and the "From:" field on my "Primary Account Settings" are the same. The display name in the zimbra admin Intarface doesn't contain an e-mail address but my full name.

I have attached another alias adress in the Admin interface and a few personalities? in the user interface to the account.

Everything was fine before updating to ZEXTRAS 1.2.3.

    Hello everybody.

The code has been fixed and such fix has been pushed to the production tree. This means that this bug will be solved in version 1.2.4.

As a temporary workaround, you can manually set the Canonical Address on accounts that experience this bug with the following command:
    zmprov ma account@domain.com zimbraMailCanonicalAddress "account@domain.com"
Please be VERY CAREFUL when using this workaround, as ALL OUTGOING EMAILS for the account will display the address set in the zimbraCanonicalAddress field in the "From:" field. This setting overrides the chosen "From:" field for ALL identities on the account.

You can check accounts which have this field manually set by usung the following search string on the Zimbra Admin Console:
    (zimbraMialCanonicalAddress=*)

    Hey Cine,

if i understand you right, all mails beeing send from the configured Account will be sent with a "from" adress stating the canonical adress? Even those sent from the web interface or any imap client?

Then it's not possible to apply that workaround as i use diffrent email adresses on that account.

When will the patch to 1.2.4 be available then?

    Dear Cine,

any news on that Bug? When will the Bugfix be available?
Is there any way to revert to Version 1.2.2 as with that the Bug didn't exist?
    KR Johannes
