    Tzpush

I have done some quick tests with tzpush and zextras. There were some slight differences in the wbxml sent and what tzpush expects.
The link is for a version that will work with zextras.

Please test this and let me know any problems. The next version at mozilla will incorporate the needed changes. Until then do your testing with this version.

Activesync does not present the GAL as a folder. So direct sync can not be done. It is however searchable.
Is GAL presented in any other way in Zimbra? In Zarafa it is ldap.
I did find this. GAL Sync Account - Zimbra :: Wiki
You can set up a ldap address book in Thunderbird.
It would be possible to crawl through the Gal and download to Thunderbird. I can work on this later.

    Hello!

I agree with DiQ, leaving port 389 open and unfiltered is not something that I'd do either...
If the GAL Search feature provided by the EAS protocol is not enough for your needs one option that comes to my mind is to set a password on the GalSync account and sync its "gal" address book, but I've never tried this myself. Just remember that any change made to that address book via a client will be deleted as soon as the GalSync account is updated.

    Have a nice day,

I will put this (Gal sync) to the back burner for now and concentrate on getting tzpush working with Zextra. But not forgotten.
GalSync account? Not sure what this is. I am new to Zimbra.

Lucky for me Zimbra, Zextra, Zentyal and Zarafa all start with Z. If I can get Microsoft to change Outlook to Zoutlook It will fit much better with t[z]push. I hear the new guy over there is very Linux friendly!

Any body had the chance to test this tzpush https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8J...ew?usp=sharing

It looks good so far on my small tests.

Galsync is a system account. I don't think it'd be wise to have that open to the internet either.

I wrote a quick script to search the GAL for @ and it returns all the entries. Which is good.
Will try to get together a extension this week.
