The Zextras server i currently disabled or not installed

    Hi

I have recently re-enabled the Zextras suite, and deployed the latest ZXchat zimlet, but I'm getting this error all of the time.:

The ZeXtras Chat server is not installed or is currently disabled.
    Please contact you Administrator.

The server is installed and running.

    server_status running
    active_users_count 1
    active_sessions_count 1
    DB_version 1
    required_zimlet 1.15
    chat_server_version 1.0

What am I doing wrong ?

Hi jancolle and welcome to our forums!

You forgot to specify which version of ZeXtras Suite you are using, please follow this guide to better report your issue.

Last Zextras Suite version is 1.8.13-hotfix1 now and last ZxChat zimlet il 1.16!

    Have a nice day.

    Hi D0s0n

    Thanks for your reply.

I downloaded the suite using " wget http://www.zextras.com/download/zextras_suite-latest.tgz" So I assume that points to the newest version.

According to Zextras GUI I have deployed zimlet version 1.16

And I get this regarding the suite.:

    Current Version:
    1.8.13

    Build ID:
    2c6f60bf2312ec1829157d495b32f400047f154e

    Available Version:
    none

    Hi Jan

From the attachment I cannot understand your zimbra version... I try to add some other questions:

    • have you tried to log-in with ?dev=1 added at the and of the url?
    • can you see some exceptions on your mailbox.log? (when you make a login or when you start zimbra)
    • what is the output of these commands?
      Code:
       zxsuite chat getServerStatus
      zxsuite chat getServices

You can get more information by active some logging functions:
    Code:
    zxsuite chat setProperty ZxChat_LogEnabled true
    zxsuite core setproperty ZxCore_LogLevel 0
These settings enable the zxchat log in /opt/zimbra/log/zxchat.log and the second command increases the log level for all zextras log to debug.

"Too many SOAP sessions" could be the problem, maybe some other components open too many sessions (I saw VNC zimlet installed also...).

You can try to increase the global limit:
    Code:
    zmlocalconfig -e zimbra_session_limit_soap=10
Have you tried to access with other users and other browsers? Everyone have the same problem?

I have now tried raising the soap limit as suggested. And that got rid of the log entry regarding too many soap entries. But the problem is still there.

I Have tried using Chrome and Firefox, and theres no difference between the two browsers. I have also created a new user and logged him in, but still the same.

    This is mailbox.log now.:

    Hello Jancolle!

    A couple of troubleshooting tips:

    - Try disabling all non-default zimlets excluding the ZeXtras Chat Zimlet for a test user and check if you can reproduce the issue: the javascript world is a wild one and zimlets that appearently have no interaction with the ZeXtras Chat Zimlet actually affect the whole webclient.

    - If disabling all non-default zimlets didn't work, disable any proxy for the user (including the Zimbra proxy).

Should none of this help, please send both the mailbox.log and the zxchat.log files to community@zextras.com for a complete analysis. Make sure that the logs include an occourrence of the issue and a mailboxd service restart.

    Have a nice day,

    Hello Cine

Thanks a lot for your suggestions.

    I have found one thing.
I'm running my Zimbra server behind a reverse proxy (apache), and if I connect directly to the server, then everything works as it should.

Is there any config that can be changed to allow zxchat to run behind a proxy ?

    Hello jancolle!

This is very strange... The ZeXtras Chat Zimlet uses the ZWC's settings to communicate with the server, so there might be something in your proxy configuration blocking ZxChat traffic.

    Could you please:
    - access an affected account with Google Chrome
    - open the Developer Tools and enter the "Network" tab
    - refresh your browser
    - once the UI is completely loaded, left click on the developer tools window and select "Copy all as HAR"
    - paste the data to a textfile and send it to community@zextras.com

I'll have a look at it with the zimlet devs to see if we can find anything strange going on.
