    Howto change the backup path

    Hi,

I would like to change the backup path to another mount point without loosing the current backups.

I believe that I have to move all my backups to the new location and then I must change the "backup path" on the Basic backup configuration menu.

    Am I correct?

    Regards,
    Panos

    Hello Panos,
    welcome to the forums!

You are correct, you'll just need to move your data to the new directory and then change the Backup Path in ZxBackup, but before doing so make sure that you stop the Real Time Scanner so that no more data will be written during the move. Temporarily disable the "Scan Operation Schedule" too, for the same reason.

As an additional measure of safety, change the backup path to a "dummy" folder before the copy to make sure that even if another administrator starts a SmartScan or Restore unbeknownst to you, the operation will fail.

Once you moved the data and changed the Backup Path, start the Real Time Scanner and run a SmartScan in order to align the backup path to the changes happened in the system during the move.

    Have a nice day,
