    Restore folder is empty

    Hello All,
I have a problem restoring deleted emails.
After submitting a restore job for an account I get this message:

    - stats -
    Restored Items: 20
    Skipped Items: 0
    Unrestored Items: 0
    Operation requested by: xxxx@tebibyte.it

    ZeXtras Version: 1.8.11

So I expect to find some messages in the undelete new folder.
    Unfortunately the folder is empty.

Real time scanner is enabled and I get periodical reports on smart/full scans being successfully executed.
    Thanks for your support

    Alberto

    Hello Alberto!

The Undelete Restore does not restore only emails but also contacts, appointments, tasks and briefcase items, so I suggest you to also check the other tabs in your Zimbra Web Client.

To better investigate the case, I'd like to know the following:

    - Does the "undelete_[..]" folder contain any subfolder?
    - If so, is there any item in such subfolders?
    - Could you please run the following command as the 'zimbra' user and paste the output here?

    Code:
    zmmailbox -z -m user@domain.com gaf | grep -i "undelete"
    Have a nice day,

    Hello,
here is the result of the zmmailbox command:
    Code:
    root@mail:/opt/zimbra/bin# ./zmmailbox -z -m user@domain.com gaf | grep -i "undelete"
          9818 unkn 0 0 /undelete 27_11_2013 12_04_52
          9819 mess 0 0 /undelete 27_11_2013 12_04_52/message
Yes, the folder contained the sub folder message (as you can see).

Since I don't use calendar or contacts the items should have been only emails.

I also personally deleted 4 messages (not trashed, but deleted from trash) to chekc and the messages aren't in the recovered message folder.

    Thanks for your kind help

    Alberto

    Hello Bittone!

Could you please send the mailbox.log file of the day during which the undelete restore has been done to community@zextras.com?

    Hello everybody!

After analyzing the logs sent by the user we found out that while the items were correctly restored, all of those originally had the "deleted" IMAP flag set and thus were restored with the very same flag. This means that the items were not visible in the ZWC and were not shown by `zmmailbox`, as the default behaviour of both is to hide such kind of items.

This behaviour has been deemed too strict, and will be changed in ZeXtras Suite 1.8.12.

See the appropriate ZeXtras Bugzilla entry for more details.
