    Briefcase file versions

    After testing first External import of backed up data, I noticed, that there are no former versions of files or web docs available in Briefcase. Only the last version of file. Is there something special to be done, or we have to cope with such matter?

    This is not videly used service in our infrastructure, but more and more we tend to display to our customers, that it is a nice way to keep track on changes. But if such changes are lost during server migrations, this might be a pitfall, or at least introduce some additional actions to be taken, to keep all these versions.

    The same issue seems to be related to item tagging - no tags on mails or other ZCS items are preserved at all.

    I'll answer to all your questions tomorrow, but in the meanwhile, can you please add more specific informations about your environment, like the version and type of the servers tested in your migration, version of Zextras and some more detail about your issue with tags and other zimbra items in general.

    Yes, please, and thank you for your response...

    Migrated from zcs 7.1.2 (multiserver with 1 mailbox) to zcs 8.0.1 (multiserver 2x mailboxes).
    Ubuntu server 10.04 to Ubuntu server 12.04 (both 64-bit and virtual machines)
    Old ZCS cluster is on RedhatEnterprise cloud, new one - VMware vSphere 5.0
    ZextrasSuite - installed latest on both clusters: v1.6.4

    Was following this wiki article: ZxBackup: Incremental migration with ZeXtras Backup - ZeXtras Suite Wiki

    The process was quite simple in terms of actions and findings. Export data on source machines (working via mailbox server). Rsync it to new server (mailbox#2, because, MB#1 initially would be used for logger purposes and administration). Importing External Backup via ZCS Admin WUI.

    Basically that is it. After opening account, going to Briefcase - no versions of web docs at all, just last versions. And after that noticed, that there are no mails tagged with custom tags at all. Only one mail found with Tag icon, and hovering over it display {tagid} - not in tag list. Probably tag IDs got messed up.

    Anything else more specific?

    About the revision you are right, only the current revision is saved by the zxbackup when it scans the account, but the real-time scanner ensures that all versions were saved.
    This is not a perfect solution for the briefcase items but we have planned to better rework this behaviour in the future releases.

    Thank you for explanation. May be these are only my customers looking for kind of version control on documentation, but it would be a real feature to preserve this on migration or backups, if this suites your plans.
