    [SOLVED] FullScan

    Hi,
I have a question about the fullScan.
What would happendif I run the fullScan twice ?
Let's say I run fullScan on production it completed succesfully, I imported on the new server also succesfully.
New server has now the mailstore of Production from 2 weeks earlier.
Can I run a fullScan again on Production to the Data ferry we used earlier and import this into the new server ?
Would this work or do I need to run Smartscan ?
    Thanks,
    Perry

    Hello Perry,

the FullScan operation aligns data in the backup with the actual data on the Zimbra server, so it's perfectly safe to run a FullScan again...

You can see how to perform an Incremental migration HERE.

    Have a nice day,

    Cine,
I ran first full scan May 29th and I have been importing data up to June 20th.
Can I still do a fullScan to the data ferry tomorrow, which is June 29th (and after tomorrow) ?
Still no luck with posix group issue, I'm thinking about downgrading the new Zimbra server to 7.1.
    Thanks,
    Perry

    Hello Perry!

If I remember correctly, the extended trial license I gave you is valid until mid-july.
Being an "extended" trial, the one-month-backwards import limit is not active so you can freely run any scan and restore operation until the expiration date.

    Have a nice day,

Now a question about another scenario:
ran a fullScan last thursday and a restore over the weekend
I tried a smartScan and the dataferry appears corrupt
can I run a new fullScan to a brandnew data ferry disk and use that to do another restore on the server that
got loaded with data from the first data ferry disk ?

Hi perry, I'm digging in you other issue...
about this question the answer is yes, but you must pay attention to the map_* files of your previous import (on backup path of destination).
In fact when you import new data from a server to another, all the account ids and object ids are checked on those maps to ignore the duplicates and to resolve all the shared items.
Be careful if you have deleted all accounts on destination server (to re-try the whole import), you must delete even the map_<origin-server-ID> file in destination backup path.

    Hi D0s0n,
    Thanks for your reply.
I did not delete anything on the destination server.
And the source server is the same (so the same server id).
I guess there should be no problem.
FullScan at time A + Smartscan at time B should give the same output as FullScan at time B

Yes Perry, you are right, if the storage is Ok, the output will be ok.
But now we are fixing a little bug, to make the account maps more robust in case of Fatal exceptions during first import, so be patient, I'll send you a fixed version that fixes your problem with restoring data sources on some accounts.

    Hi D0s0n,
    I expected this fixed in 1.4.3 !?
Anyway, don't want to push you and the devs but I'll start a new import in about 10 minutes from now.
