Cool, hope this works, there have been some issues with the zimlet in the latest version of Zimbra but we'll see.
    Thanks I'll keep you posted..

    An update and a question:
we have moved all data from current to new mailserver (almost 900 GB) and have still problems creating Posix groups.
We have the mailflow to the current server and want to keep the data on the new server aligned with the current server.
Is it be possible to do a smartscan from current to new over the network (sshfs mounted data ferry on new server) and
import the data onto the new mailserver at night (maybe put this in a script that can start from cron) ?
    Thanks,
    Perry

    Hi Perry!

I strongly suggest against running imports right now, since your posixaccount issues.

In any case, you can mount the Ferry Store via sshfs to the old server, set the ZxBackup's backup path as the sshfs mountpoint and run a nightly SmartScan (you can schedule a cron job that runs the `zxsuite backup doSmartScan` command as the Zimbra user).
This way, once you sort out your posixaccount issues you will just need to run an import - just like in an incremental migration - before switching the mailflow to the new server.

We have only a few Posix groups, if I could create Posix groups (which I can't because of
    "Server error encountered
Message: createLDAPEntry invalid attr value: [LDAP: error code 21 - objectClass: value #0 invalid per syntax] Error code: account.INVALID_ATTR_VALUE
    Method: [unknown] Details:soap:Sender"
    )
I would be able to add members within a couple of minutes manually
why not keep new and current mail server data aligned on a daily (over night) basis ?

    Hi perry!

I'm just being cautious, since your LDAP is not fully functional right now I'd prefer avoiding the risk of aggravating the situation by importing more data...

    Hi Cine,
I want to do "zxsuite backup doSmartScan" as user zimbra but this user is not allowed to do sshfs
    of the data ferry.
How can I do this ?
    Thanks,
    Perry

    Hello Perry!

You just need to add the '-o allow_other' option while mounting the device through SSHFS, this way the zimbra user will be able to write on the device (provided that folder permissions are ok).

Question Distribution Lists do not get restored

With Zextras Suite an ExternalRestore restores all the items in Addresses
    except Distribution Lists.
Is this standard behaviour or a bug ?

    Hello Perry!

Usually Distribution Lists are restored by ZeXtras Backup, however your issue with the PosixAccount zimlet is preventing a correct restore of your data.
We are running some tests about your issue and I know that the devs are working on a workaround which will be made available soon.

    Stay tuned!
    Cine

(p.s.: I merged the Distribution List thread with your ongoing "migration" one as they are strictly related)
