Run Smartscan and Export Backup difference

In the ZxBackup admin interface I can see two button that permit me to generate a backup dataset: "Run Smartscan" and "Export Backup"

What is the difference between the two?

Can I import a dataset generated with Smartscan (zxsuite backup doSmartScan) using the "Import Backup" button on the destination server?

    TIA

    Hello orsomannaro!

The SmartScan is a feature strictly tied to the Realtime Scanner, as it's the main coherency check that makes sure that the backup and live data are perfectly aligned and on top of this saves the mailbox/server/global configs in the backup path. The External Backup, on the other hand, takes a snapshot of the current live information and saves it to a dedicated and autonomous folder.

Importing a Zextras Backup dataset to a different server is the most common way to perform migrations: you can find a step-by-step guide in our Incremental Migration guide, and the same process is used for Disaster Recovery...
