zimbra migration to new server: how to manage the backup's migration

Hello we're migrating to a new server using incremental restore from our backup repository mounted via NFS on both server (origin and destination).
the restore does work very well but i was wondering how to manage the exixsting backup data once I've the new server in production. I mean, may I just point the smart scan of the new server to the same NFS folder where the old backup server was saving his backups?
If not how could I manage the old backuped up mails/account.. ?

    thanx

    Hello Davide!

The existing backup cannot be used on the new server, as the restore process creates new domains, accounts and items with whole new IDs - hence on the new server you must start fresh with a new Backup Path...
It still remains valid for the old server, so if it's a VM you can simply keep it shut down and power it on if needed.

    Thanx Cine,
so, as far as I'm understanding, to recover the deleted objects (emails and account) from the old backup it is necessary to have the old server in stand by. isn't it?

    Hello Davide!

Yes, as the old server is the only one which can use the old backup as its Backup Path...

    Hey initiativa!

You'll need to remove the ZeXtras License from the old server after the migration, so if you need to start it up again and run a restore feel free to get in touch with our Sales Team and ask for an Extended Trial License

Yep, I was thinking at how to manage restores from the old server if I move the license to the new server...
