Question zextras 1.10.0's 'doSmartScan' not exec'ing a full scan

I've installed Zextras 1.10.0 on my Zimbra 8.0.7 server.

Prior to upgrading Zimbra, I'm attempting to force a FULL backup

    Code:
    	zxsuite backup doFullScan
Command was replaced by doSmartScan and doPurge.
    but the alternative

    Code:
    	zxsuite --progress backup doSmartScan

    	        operationId 2cd97d3e-ede2-4e6e-9882-3a62da24d456
    	        server my.domain.com
    	        monitorCommand zxsuite backup monitor 2cd97d3e-ede2-4e6e-9882-3a62da24d456

    	 --
    	 Account scanned: 0/18
    	 Account updated/new: 0/0
    	 Item scanned: 0
    	 Item updated/new/unique: 0/0/0

    	 --
    	 Account scanned: 18/18
    	 Account updated/new: 0/0
    	 Item scanned: 0
    	 Item updated/new/unique: 0/0/0
Doesn't appear to execute the scan.

How do I force a full scan now that 'doFullScan' has been removed?

    Hi pgn,

the SmartScan operation considers only those items that has been modified from the last scan, so it's possible that nothing has changed since then.
Anyway you can try to modify an item or an account, rerun the SmartScan operation and post here the end notification, which should reports some changes.
Another thing you can try is to use the "deep" mode of the SmartScan:

    zxsuite backup dosmartscan deep true

Let me know if you have any other issue.

    Have a nice day,
    kral

At exec with the 'deep' scan option,

    Code:
    zxsuite backup dosmartscan deep true

            operationId f2fea40e-4c25-49d4-88a2-c86dfef23e5b
            server my.domain.com
            monitorCommand zxsuite backup monitor f2fea40e-4c25-49d4-88a2-c86dfef23e5b

    zxsuite backup monitor f2fea40e-4c25-49d4-88a2-c86dfef23e5b
     --
     Account scanned: 0/18
     Account updated/new: 0/0
     Item scanned: 0
     Item updated/new/unique: 0/0/0

     --
     Account scanned: 0/18
     Account updated/new: 0/0
     Item scanned: 0
     Item updated/new/unique: 0/0/0

     --
     Account scanned: 0/18
     Account updated/new: 0/0
     Item scanned: 100
     ...
     --
      Account scanned: 18/18
     Account updated/new: 0/0
     Item scanned: 67976
     Item updated/new/unique: 42149/0/1
the scan took ~ 45 mins, which seems uncharacteristically long. But no errors were fired.

What specifically is the difference between

    Code:
    zxsuite backup doSmartScan deep true
    and the 'old'

    Code:
    zxsuite backup doFullScan
    if any?

    Hello pgn!

The old "fullScan" operation performed the very same coherency check than the current SmartScan, the only difference between the two being that the FullScan also purged any deleted item out of the backup retention from the backup path. The latter task is now performed by a stand-alone operation called "Purge", which took the FullScan's place in the default operation schedule (coupled with a SmartScan).

The "deep" option - which was also available for the FullScan - forces the operation to check the full history of the item instead of taking into account just the latest state.

    Have a nice day,
