Exclamation "Homebrew" domain admin settings causing Admin Console issues

    I have the same problem!

I use the 8.5.0 open source edition and only use zextras for the free chat. I dont need the admin module. However i need to add some domain admins.
I do this with this script:
    #!/bin/bash

    # $1 domain
    # $2 email

echo -n "Grant $2 with domain admin rights in domain $1. Please wait..."
    zmprov ma $2 zimbraIsDelegatedAdminAccount TRUE
zmprov ma $2 zimbraAdminConsoleUIComponents cartBlancheUI zimbraAdminConsoleUIComponents domainListView zimbraAdminConsoleUIComponents accountListView zimbraAdminConsoleUIComponents DLListView
    zmprov ma $2 zimbraDomainAdminMaxMailQuota 0
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 +createAccount
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 +createAlias
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 +createCalendarResource
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 +createDistributionList
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 +deleteAlias
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 +listDomain
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 +domainAdminRights
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 +configureQuota
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 set.account.zimbraAccountStatus
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 set.account.sn
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 set.account.displayName
    zmprov grantRight domain $1 usr $2 set.account.zimbraPasswordMustChange
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +deleteAccount
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +getAccountInfo
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +getAccountMembership
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +getMailboxInfo
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +listAccount
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +removeAccountAlias
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +renameAccount
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +setAccountPassword
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +viewAccountAdminUI
    zmprov grantRight account $2 usr $2 +configureQuota
    echo "Done."

This is working perfectly if the zextras suite not installed, but if i install the core and the zxchat i get the "ZaAccountViewController.prototype._setView" javascript error.
Any workaround? This is not happened with the zimbra 8.0.x and the earlier version of zextras.

    Hello Vadonka!

I strongly suspect that the cause of this issue is not directly related to ZeXtras Suite, as there were a lot of changes in Zimbra 8.5.0 and "homebrew" admin delegation solutions (albeit working on 8.0.x) might not work on this version.

Could you please enter the Zimbra Administration Console in "Dev Mode" by adding "?dev=1" at the end of the URL (e.g.: https://mail.yourdomain.com:7071/?dev=1) and post the complete error message that appears along with any debug info found in your browser's developer tools?

It is related to zextras beacuse im just uninstalled all modules leave only the core installed. Then installed the zxchat zimlet alone and everything is working fine.
I dont see the zextras modules in the admin ui but the chat is working and the domain admins working too. I just need to install future updates by hand but its not a big problem.
    So problem is solved.

    Hello Vadonka!

I'm sure that the issue is related to ZeXtras Suite - I just doubt the cause of the issue is

The ZeXtras Core contains all the ZeXtras Suite modules, while the component you didn't install is the ZeXtras Administration Zimlet which only provides the UI integrated with the Zimbra Administration Console (so the ZeXtras Admin module is still there, inactive because the lack of a valid license).

The ZeXtras Administration Zimlet is not designed to be compatible with 'homebrew' Admin Delegation solutions, but should you wish to help us identifying the cause of the error please send me the information mentioned in my first reply: we'll do our best to fix it so that you'll be able to use the ZeXtras Administration Zimlet aswell...

I have a related issue while using custom Delegated Admin Group (using CLI) on 8.6 OSE. When the domainadmin tries to edit anything, an error pops up along the lines of "Zextras Error: Your user is not authorized....". The error is harmless though, I can close it and continue editing without any issues. Is there any way to disable ZxAdmin completely?

ZxAdmin is good enough for what I want to achieve, without having to resort to the CLI method, but will it keep working even after the trial period? (what will happen with the Delegated account/domains and othe config after trial?) Or should I go the same path as OP?

    Hello smallet,
    welcome to the forums!

As previously stated on this thread, the ZeXtras Administration Zimlet is not designed to be compatible with "homebrew" delegated administration methods, and there is no way to disable or uninstall the ZeXtras Admin module. Feel free to drop me an email (community@zextras.com) about your delegation system, I'll check with the devs how it could interact with the ZeXtras Administration Zimlet and whether or not it's possible to avoid this...

Unlikely ZxChat, the ZxAdmin module is free but only available as part of the ZeXtras Bundle - so when your trial license expires it will be disabled unless a "ZeXtras Bundle" license is uploaded.
