    Have been using Zextras backup of NE edition and now want to do native zimbra backup

    Hi, Have been using Zextras backup for many months for one customer who has limited internet bandwidth. He has the NE edition which has been building up redo logs for some time. When I try to use the Zimbra backup to tidy this us before turning on delete of redo logs after rollover, the Zimbra backup fails with "ParallelZipCopier stopped due to earlier error: Input/output error" on every active mailbox. I would assume that it is because it is trying to copy the redo files into the backup. There is plenty of disk space. I have now tried to delete older redo logs manually (carefully left more recent redo logs). Even after this the error still persists so it is impossible to do any Zimbra backup. Although I prefer to use Zextras backup, it does concern me that I can not solve this error. I have searched various forums but there is hardly any mention of this error. Help would be most appreciated.

    Hello msutherland25!

    Unfortunately I've never stumbled upon the issue you mention, I've searched a bit on the web aswell with no luck either and being it about a NE feature it means that the help I and the team can give you is kinda limited: I'm afraid your best bet is to open a support ticket to Zimbra... I'm positive they'll ask you to uninstall ZeXtras Suite and try again, even if ZxBackup does not interact in any way with Zimbra's own backup feature, so make sure you are ready to do so.

    Thank you Cine for replying. I get the same issue when Zextras is not installed. I do realise that it is not caused by Zextras, but thought that you may have heard of it. It must be the combination of the OS and ZCS NE that has this problem. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and backup all mailboxes with Zextras and then blow away the whole system and start with a fresh CentOS/ZCS and then restore with Zextras...
