Hi.
What happens if the domain/account already exists on the target/importing server?
Does the importing process resets the mailbox first?
Does it add the imported data to the existing?

The import procedure redo all operations but it doesn't create already existing items as long as the 'maps' are still there, if you choose to redo an import from scratch delete the "map_*" file from backup directory (zxsuite version 0.99.x). The file should also be deleted if you manually delete imported accounts.
I wasn't clear enough in my question, sorry.
Let's say I want to migrate some users from one server to another one.
What I had in mind was :
. create the accounts on the new server
. reconfigure SMTP incoming on the edge MTA to go to the new server (this way the messages received during the migration won't be lost)
. export from old server
. import on new server
When importing (last step), will the existing messages (brand new messages, received during the migration) be left in the accounts?
Or will the import procedure erase them?
Hi Klug,
don't worry, all pre-existent items in the accounts will be preserved by import process, it do only an additem() on mailbox.
Pay more attention if you re-import same data or an updated export from the source server, in that case follow the Jay's post.
Good week-end
