    no valid authtoken present after a restore

    Hi,

    I'm trying your Backup solution to upgrade from and old Zimbra version to the newest one 8.5.0,

    And I'm having and issue to reconnect the same account using Zimbra Destop, here the information
    provided by ZD:

    Hi Sylvain and welcome to the forums.

    this is the normal behaviour, if you restore your data by recreating a new account, the user UUID is changed, so zdesktop client needs to be resynced from scratch.

    Ok, but how I should backup and restore all my email and account to a new server whit out causing this? Is there a way, I cannot imagine to recreate hundreds account on each client just because we want to upgrade our server! Any idea on that?

    Hello SylvainD!

    It's not possible to create a new account while keeping the old account's UUID, as Zimbra assigns a random one to each newly created account.
    If your clients mainly use of Zimbra Desktop my suggestion would be to proceed with the official upgrade methods found on the Zimbra Wiki using ZeXtras Backup as a disaster recovery option in case something goes bad.
