    ZeXtras Core Missing

I've installed Zextras Migration Tool onto a 7.1.3 mailbox and when I launch the ZImbra Admin interface I get the error "ZeXtras Core Missing". This was a fresh install of 1.6.2 and I did not see any errors. The Zimlet seemed to have deployed fine.

Same thing happened when I deployed ZeXtras Suite to the 8.0.0 mailbox server that was going to be the destination. No errors during the install but I get the ZeXtras Core Missing" error there too.

    Hi chewie71,

I've never seen such a problem on two different servers, I need more info:
    • Is your installation a single server or a multiserver infrastructure
    • Reinstall the product with "-d" option and post the output
    • Check the /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log file during the start of zimbra and look for "INFO [main] [] extensions - Starting ZeXtras version 1.6.2 commit...."
    • As zimbra user do "zxsuite core getversion"

    • multiserver
    • did that.....no errors that I saw....if you really need the output let me know....but the two steps below show it should be installed...
    • 2012-11-15 16:06:39,819 INFO [main] [] extensions - Starting ZeXtras version 1.6.2 commit 1ee2bccc96154de63d444a7a42134c7e359679bf
    • $ zxsuite core getversion

      zextras_version 1.6.2
      zextras_target 8.0.0
      zextras_commit 1ee2bccc96154de63d444a7a42134c7e359679bf

There was this in the mailbox.log...

2012-11-15 16:06:40,415 WARN [main] [tid=1;] extensions - Multiserver Synchronizer: Exception: Unable to communicate with server zcatest-mb1.my.domain

So that may be the problem...

    Hello chewie71!

I see you run a multiserver environment... Has ZeXtras Suite been installed correctly on all mailboxd servers?
The issue you report usually happens when one or more mailboxd servers lack the ZeXtras Core, so be sure to install the package on all of them (running the installer with the "core" option is enough, as the ZeXtras Administration Zimlet has already been deployed)..

    Have a nice day,
    Cine

Hi, I have the same error but my scenario is:

Hi Jonathan and welcome to our forums!

It's very weird behaviour... have you tried to follow the How to report a ZeXtras Suite issue?

GENERAL - ZeXtras Administration Zimlet and ZeXtras Chat Zimlet issues
When reporting an issue related to any ZeXtras GUI, please provide the full error text and debug informations.

It's very important to use Zimbra's debug mode when gathering this informations, as only this way we will be able to identify the exact component causing the error.
To enter the debug mode, simply add the "?dev=1" string at the end of your URL (e.g. http://mail.mydomain.com:7071/?dev=1). This forces Zimbra to ignore any cached data to and reload any Javascript component separately.

Checking for exceptions in the Zimbra Administration Console:
    - Log into the Zimbra Web Client adding "?dev=1" after the URL of your server (e.g. https://mail.example.com/?dev=1).
    - Verify if the issue still occours. If not, clearing the browser's cache should solve the issue permanently.
    - If the issue persists, open your browser's debug tool: the "Javascript Console" in Google Chrome or the "Firebug" add-on for Firefox.
    - Reload the Zimbra Web Client (always with the ?dev=1 particle) and search for any error or exception in the debug tool's console (last tab in the Javascript Console, first tab in Firebug).
    - Include the complete error or exception in your bug report.
    Have a nice day!

    Hi Jonathan,
are you in a multiserver environment like the OP?
If not, can you please reload the page adding "?dev=1" after the URL of your server (e.g. https://mail.example.com/?dev=1)., open the javascript console ("Javascript Console" in Google Chrome or the "Firebug" add-on for Firefox) and execute the following statement:

    ZXBase.checkVersion()

It should print either true or false. In any case, can you please send us the mailbox.log part about the corresponding span of time?

    Thanks.

Hi Guys, sorry for the delay.

Well, im not running a multiserver environment! Just one machine with an old debian that were trying to update.

Ive put the "?dev=1" after the URL and the result was:
    ZXBase.checkVersion()
    POST https://mail.mailsrv.com:7071/servic...n/soap/zextras 500 (Internal Server Error) AjxRpcRequest.js?v=101215162915:133
    false

    Here is the log:

    Hello Jonathan!

Could you please run the following command as the zimbra user on your server and let me know the output?

    Code:
    zmjava com.zimbra.cs.util.BuildInfo
Line 1477 of the log you linked displays a version mismatch error during the initialization of the ZeXtras Core: basically, the core installed on the server is the right one for Zimbra 7.1.1, but it looks like Zimbra presents itself as Zimbra 6.0.10.

    Have a nice day,

    Heres the output:
    $ zmjava com.zimbra.cs.util.BuildInfo
    Version: 6.0.10_GA_2692
    Release: 20101215161423
    Build Date: 20101215-1616
    Build Host: zre-debian5.eng.vmware.com
    Full Version: 6.0.10_GA_2692 20101215161423 20101215-1616 FOSS
    DB Version: 64
    Index Version: 2

We have this version a long time ago, but we installed and we are running the 7.1.1! What do we do to correct this?
