    Zextras won't update after DNS issue

    I restarted my server last week and it had somehow lost the resolv.conf file. I fixed it a little while later but since then Zextras wont check for updates properly. When I do an doCheckUpdate this is what I see.

    [zimbra@name ~]$ zxsuite core doCheckUpdate


    currentVersion 1.6.5
    availableVersion none
    lastUpdate 2013-01-15 07:49:28 MST
    updateError update.zextras.com
    zxchatZimletCurrentVersion 0.98

    I am unsure what to do to get it to recheck again. I can resolve update.zextras.com from my server now.

    Hi Jeremy,

    ZeXtras uses some Zimbra APIs (on Jetty/Mailboxd java core) to make the update requests (using proxy if setted), so if you are experiencing an update error, also Zimbra cannot open internet connections.
    If you want investigate for the specific error you should take a look at /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log when you give the zxsuite command.
    I guess you need to restart your mailboxd instance by using this command as zimbra user:
