    Migration issue

I have a 1TB zimbra instance that I'm trying to figure out the best/fastest method for migration. Four very large mailboxes compose ~60% of that 1TB. I would like to separate those four mailboxes out and restore them at a later time so that I can just migrate the ~40% left of the mail store. I don't need those four mailboxes immediately. Here's my plan:

    1. Install Zextras suite on the source server.
    2. Export/backup only the four large mailboxes and store them in a special location.
    3. Delete the four large mailboxes from the server which will reduce my live mail store to ~400GB.
    4. Uninstall Zextras suite from the source server.
    5. Install ZXMig on the source server.
    6. Export the now ~400GB mail store.
    7. Install Zextras suite on destination server (completed)
    8. Transfer and import the ~400GB store.
    9. Import the four large mailboxes, using Zextras suite, at my leisure.

    Will that plan work?

I need to revise my plan. I naively thought that ZxBackup could backup individual mailboxes, upon further research, that doesn't seem to be true. However, ZxBackup and zximg seem that they can backup specific COS's. If I make a new COS, place the four big mailboxes into the new COS, and then only export/zxmig the old COS; that would essentially have the same results as my original plan, correct?

    Hi Levee!

    You are almost right!
You can specify which COS ZxBackup WILL NOT EXPORT.
So, you could create the new COS, and disable the backup for it

    Code:
    zxsuite backup doenabledisablecos VeryBigMailboxesCos disable
and run an export for the original ones

    Code:
     zxsuite backup doExport {destination_path}
Or, as the original plan, you could disable all the other COS except the new one.

    ps.
You don't need to install and uninstall Zextras Suite. On the new server you could work in trial mode for 30days...
