ZEXTRAS CLIENT ZIMLET
This new component is, similarly to the ZeXtras Chat Zimlet, a client-side one. It enables the use of the "Shared Items Sync" feature to users, so make sure to enable the Zimlet for any user/COS which will use this feature. It features an autodeploy system similar to the one used by the ZeXtras Chat Zimlet (see the "How to..." paragraph below).
ZEXTRAS CHAT ZIMLET
A new version of the ZeXtras Chat Zimlet has been released, which includes all the new features. Right now this new version is not available via the autodeploy system, but you can download it from HERE and deploy it manually.
HOW TO... (the ZeXtras Wiki will be updated with proper guides during the beta stage)
- To deploy the ZeXtras Client Zimlet, access the Zimbra Administration Console, enter the "Core" section of the ZeXtras Administration Zimlet and click on the "Deploy" button within the "ZeXtras Client Zimlet" section.
- To enable the synchronization of a shared folder (ZeXtras Client Zimlet is required), right click on the folder in your Zimbra WebClient, select the "Folder Sync Settings" entry, check the "Sync this folder" checkbox and press "OK".
- To start a video call via ZeXtras Chat simply open a new chat with one of your buddies and click the camera icon next to the Emoji selector.
- To send a full client info debug log, click on the "gear" icon in ZeXtras Chat, check the "Show Debug Info" checkbox in the "About" tab, then access the newly created "Debug Info" tab and click on "Send email".
HOW TO REPORT AN ISSUE
In order to streamline the investigation and fix process, please only report BETA issues on this thread (no tickets), following this steps:
- Post a description of your issue in this thread
- Send all information mentioned in the appropriate sections of the "How to report a ZeXtras Suite issue" guide to beta@zextras.com, including a link to your post in the message's body.
- For issues affecting ZeXtras Chat, please send the client info debug log (see above) to beta@zextras.com aswell.
- If you are asked to send a logfile, please do not alter it in any way.
CHANGELOG
1.99.2
- Fixed an issue that could cause emails sent from a mobile device not to be correctly saved in the "Sent" folder. This only affected EAS2.5 clients (e.g. Samsung devices).
- Fixed an issue that caused sychronized folders for which share permissions were revoked after the sync not to disappear from mobile devices.
- Fixed a bug that could cause Outlook 2013 to crash when synchronizing a task folder.
- Fixed several small usability issues affecting the ZeXtras Client Zimlet (updated aswell)
- Updated iOS 8.x compatibility, including the lockscreen email notification/preview.
- Connection handlers have been improved.
- Folder items with "unkn" item type now inherit the parent folder's item type.
- Changed the algorithm used by the to generate mobile passwords to the same one used by the Admin Console.
- Added a workaround for a Windows Mobile/Windows Phone issue that could lead to an incomplete sync when the number of pending items is higher than the phone's WindowSize. On top of this, WP/WM compatibility has been further improved.
1.99.1
- SyncStates are now migrated from previous ZeXtras Suite versions, which means devices won't re-sync anymore after updating to 1.99.1+
- The "Active Devices" and "Registered Devices" list have been merged into a new and improved cross-server view.
- All protocol versions have been tested and are now available for use.
- Several "ping" and protocol fixes, affecting both personal and shared items.
- Several Shared Calendars fixes (auto-update, improved stability...). We're still working on some Meeting Invitation issues.
- Improved logging.
- Fixed a bug that could cause a "ping loop" issue with Android Devices.
1.90.0
Yaaaay, new beta! Rolling changelog at Changelog - ZeXtras Suite Wiki
KNOWN ISSUES
- When upgrading to version 1.99.x, the "Last Activity" and "Registered" fields are lost, displaying Jan. 1st 1970 until the related device/user starts a sync. This will be solved before the final release.
- When viewing a shared calendar, appointments are marked as "invites" as the user is not the organizer of the appointment. This logic loophole might be solved before the final release.
- Moving items between folders belonging to different users is not supported. This might be added in the future (but not in the first stable release).
- We're still working on cross-browser compatibility on the Video Chat features: to date, starting a videochat with an user using a different browser might not work.
- We're going to add a "limiter" similar to the one enabled by default on the Window Size property to the "Days to Sync" so that devices not sending a specific amount of days to sync won't synchronize the full mailbox (there are very few devices showing this behaviour).
